Big Block Moments: David and Barb Stiles

By June 18, 2021

David and Barb Stiles had been with Block Insurance for decades and had never made a major insurance claim until a car accident last April.

As the couple drove home from seeing family in Kansas with Barb at the wheel, they got off the highway to get gas. They were in the left-turn lane waiting to turn into the gas station when a car suddenly struck them on the passenger side.

David went to the hospital with several broken ribs, and their car was damaged, but he says their experience with Block Insurance made the whole episode much smoother.

“There were no problems at all with the claims process and how things were handled,” he said. “We had no complaints at all.”

A Block Insurance Legacy

David said he’d carried his auto insurance with Block ever since he was a teenager: “My stepfather had Block Insurance, so naturally when I began driving, I went with them, too,” said the Wapakoneta-area native.

He also recommended the agency to anyone looking for personal service and knowledgeable experts.

“I would absolutely recommend them to anybody, and I mean that sincerely. They’ve been tremendous to us over the years,” he said.

He added, “The people there are so nice to work with. We know everyone in the Wapakoneta office.”

Making a Claim with Block Insurance

When you get into an accident, Block Insurance has three tips to remember:

  1. Call the police
  2. Remain at the scene
  3. Call Block to report the claim after you’ve talked with the police and any first responders

Reporting a claim is easy. You can either call your insurance agent at our Wapakoneta or Waynesfield offices, or you can use our website.

The claims process typically works like this:

  • An insurance adjuster from your insurance carrier is assigned to your case
  • The adjuster will be in touch within 24 hours to ask questions about the incident
  • The adjuster will work with you to determine the next steps

If the other party’s insurance adjuster calls you, simply provide them with the details of the incident. Just remember not to admit fault – it is the responsibility of the police and your insurance company to determine who’s at fault for the accident.
