Block Insurance Is Re-Opening to Visits By Appointment Only

Effective Tuesday, May 26, we will begin accepting client visits at our offices by appointment only.
Please call us ahead of time to schedule your appointment.

Otherwise, we can continue to discuss your insurance needs and offer our services through phone and email as we have been doing these past months. You may also use our drop boxes at each office for no-contact paperwork. In addition, the drive-thru at our Waynesfield location is available.

However, please keep in mind we are no longer taking cash payments. You can always pay your bill online by visiting our website.

Update on Personal Auto Policy Discounts

Since our last update, where we told you that some insurance companies are giving a 15% to 25% two-month premium refund or flat refund on their personal auto policies, these discounts have now been approved by the Ohio Department of Insurance for participating carriers.

Why am I getting a discount?
This is being done because fewer accidents are occurring than expected during the stay-at-home order. Each policyholder affected will receive a notice directly from their insurance company on how this policy credit will be applied.

Also, our insurance companies are temporarily suspending policy cancellations due to the non-payment of premiums. Some companies are on a case-by-case basis. Please remember that the premium due is not being waived, but rather the grace period is being extended. This is to help those who are facing unemployment due to COVID-19.

As for Block Insurance and our employees, although our lobby remains closed to walk-in traffic, we are still available for you each day by phone, email, Facebook and through our website.

Refunds, Discounts & Policy Adjustments

Our agency takes pride in representing highly rated insurance companies to serve our customers. Many of our carriers are discussing refunds or discounts on personal auto policies, but at this time, nothing has been approved by the Ohio Department of Insurance.

What is a given right now is that carriers are waiving late fees and postponing cancellations to dates anywhere from May 15 to May 29, with some companies on a case-by-case basis.

Based on your premium and other factors, you could expect a discount of approximately $30-$75 in total.

You will be notified by your insurance company as soon as the type and amount of adjustments are determined. Until then, we’re here to help with your questions and concerns. Hope you are all doing well and staying healthy!

Based on the governor’s orders for COVID-19, Block Insurance is closing our lobby to foot traffic effective 3-23-20 until further notice.

Please use the drop box by our front door for any payments or other paper documents, and they will be processed immediately.
